About Yuquan Taoist Temple

A Taoist temple complex climbing the foot of Tianjing Mountain on the north side of Tianshui's old city, founded in the Tang dynasty and rebuilt by Quanzhen Taoists from the Yuan onwards. Its Ming and Qing halls rise in terraces up the slope, among them a Ming Jade Emperor Hall, and it keeps more than fifty inscribed steles, including a four-sided Yuan stele. A temple fair, known locally as chaoguan, is held on the ninth day of the first lunar month.
