Restored from 2007 and reopened in 2011, the district is part of the Grand Canal World Heritage Site; alongside its shops and creative businesses are museums in old industrial buildings, including the China Silk Industry Museum in the former Yongtai silk mill, and the remains of the brick kilns along Dayao Road.
