About West Eight Sluices on the Fuyang River
Eight Ming-dynasty sluices on the Fuyang River west of the old city of Yongnian, strung out along the north bank between Xidaci and Tianbu villages and named from west to east Guangren, Puhui, Bianmin, Jimin, Guangji, Runmin, Huimin and Fumin. Five of them, the second, fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth, were reported still in use, while the first, third and fifth have been abandoned. It is a piece of waterworks rather than a developed attraction, so it mainly suits those interested in historic hydraulic engineering.
