About Hu Ancestral Hall, Guanxi
The Hu clan's ancestral hall in Guanxi, built in 1614 and restored in 1884, is a two-storey brick-and-timber complex of about 2,020 square metres with a gate, main hall, opera stage and side rooms. A plaque inside reads Qinghua Yimai, tracing the clan to Qinghua in Wuyuan, and a couplet plays on the form of the character Hu. Guanxi belonged to Jiangshan in Zhejiang until 1952, when it was transferred to Yushan, and repairs to the hall began in 2010.
