About Hechi

Hechi is steep karst country on the southern edge of the Yunnan–Guizhou Plateau, cut by the Hongshui River, and minority peoples make up most of its population. Besides the Zhuang and Yao, it is home to the Maonan of Huanjiang and the Mulao of Luocheng, each with an autonomous county. Huanjiang's karst forest joined the South China Karst World Heritage Site in 2014, Yizhou claims the legendary singer Liu Sanjie as its own, and Bama, a Yao county, is known for its long-lived residents.
