About White Dagoba of Miaoying Temple

A huge whitewashed Tibetan-style stupa built between 1271 and 1279 for Kublai Khan under the Nepalese craftsman Araniko, regarded as the oldest and largest of its kind in China. The temple around it, rebuilt and renamed Miaoying Temple in the Ming, is now a museum whose halls display Buddhist statues and relics found in the stupa's top during repairs in 1978; the stupa was last restored in 2013–15.
