About Entrance Tower of Ma Wat Wai

Ma Wat Wai was built by the Tang clan in the Qianlong reign as one of the Five Wais and Six Tsuens of Lung Yeuk Tau. Past development removed most of its walls and all four corner towers, leaving the entrance tower, whose red sandstone lintel carries two characters meaning a place of verdancy, and part of the enclosing walls. The tower was fully restored in 1995 and is on the Lung Yeuk Tau Heritage Trail.
