About Yeung Hau Temple, Ha Tsuen

A two-hall temple in Tung Tau Tsuen, probably built before 1811 by the Tang clan of the three Tung Tau villages in memory of Marquis Yang Liangjie, who gave his life protecting the last Southern Song emperors and is worshipped here as Yeung Hau. The front hall has red sandstone drum platforms and stone columns, and the whole building is decorated with woodcarvings and murals. An annex honours Wang Lairen, the Qing governor of Guangdong who petitioned for the end of the Evacuation Edict.
