About Guanyin Bridge
A single-span granite arch bridge over the Sanxia Stream at the southern foot of Mount Lushan, built in 1014 under the Northern Song and one of the oldest surviving stone arch bridges in China. It is made of 107 granite blocks joined by tongue-and-groove joints without mortar, and the date is carved on the arch. Poets from Su Shi and Huang Tingjian to Zhu Xi wrote about it, and it stands beside Qixian Temple.
