About Sam Tung Uk Museum

Sam Tung Uk is a Hakka walled village built by the Chan clan in 1786 and restored in 1987 to open as a museum. Its symmetrical, chessboard-like layout has an entrance hall, a middle hall and the ancestral hall on the central axis, with dwellings enclosed by rows of houses on each side and at the back. The Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Centre is based here, with exhibitions on local festivals and traditional crafts.
