About Historic Structures of Kowloon Reservoir

Five waterworks structures built between 1901 and 1910 for Kowloon Reservoir: the main dam and its valve house, the spillway dam and two recorder houses. It was the fourth reservoir in Hong Kong and the first on the Kowloon Peninsula, and its stored rainwater replaced well water and the supply pumped from Yau Ma Tei. The structures lie in Kam Shan Country Park, also known as Monkey Hill for its macaques.
