About Early Buildings of Wuhan University
A group of university buildings put up between 1930 and 1936 on Luojia Hill beside East Lake, combining palace-style Chinese roofs with modern reinforced-concrete frames; 15 sites with 26 buildings are listed as national heritage. They include the old library, the courtyard buildings of the arts and law schools and the hillside men's dormitory, nicknamed the Cherry Blossom Castle for the trees around it. The buildings are still in use on a working campus, so visitors mostly walk between them.
