About Four Crossings of the Chishui River Memorial Hall

A memorial museum opened in 2007 in Tucheng town, telling the story of the Red Army's four crossings of the Chishui River between January and March 1935 during the Long March. Several of the crossings were made in what is now Xishui County, and the Red Army fought a heavy battle at Tucheng on 28 January 1935 before the first crossing. The hall is the main venue of a group of smaller museums in the old town, covering topics such as the women soldiers of the Red Army, the Red Army hospital and shipping on the Chishui River.
