About Daodejing Pillar at Longxing Daoist Temple

A Tang-dynasty octagonal stone pillar about 6 metres high, raised in 738 and carved with the Daodejing together with Emperor Xuanzong's commentary. It stands in the built-up part of Yi County town under a protective pavilion built in 2001, and is all that remains of the Longxing Daoist temple apart from three steles. Some scholars attribute the calligraphy to the Tang calligrapher Su Lingzhi.
