About Chongfu Palace
A Taoist temple at the foot of Wansui Peak that grew from a shrine founded under Han Emperor Wu and under the Northern Song became a court-managed temple, whose superintendents included Fan Zhongyan, Sima Guang and the Cheng brothers. After centuries of decline and use as a livestock farm in the 1970s it was restored in 2010. Four Qing halls survive, among them the vaulted brick Jade Emperor and Sanyuan halls, along with some 50 old trees and more than ten steles.
