About Lord Bao Memorial Temple, Kaifeng

A memorial temple to Bao Zheng (999–1062), the Northern Song official who became China's byword for incorruptible justice as 'Judge Bao' of opera and television. Rebuilt in 1984 on the west shore of Baogong Lake on the site of a temple first raised under the Jin and Yuan, it has gates, a screen wall, a stele pavilion and halls that tell his life with a bronze statue, wax figures, models, rubbings and inscriptions. It pairs naturally with the rebuilt Kaifeng Prefecture office across the lake.
