About Main Building of St. Stephen's Girls' College

The main building of one of the first schools in Hong Kong devoted to educating girls, opened on Lyttelton Road in 1924 after the Prince of Wales laid the foundation stone in 1922. This four-storey classical building has four wings around a central school hall, a layout that resembles a traditional Chinese courtyard house. Its pitched roof of Chinese pan-and-roll tiles rests on timber trusses.
