About Sha Tin Racecourse
Opened in 1978, Sha Tin is the larger of Hong Kong's two racecourses, run by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, with a turf track and an all-weather dirt track watched from two grandstands. It hosts the Hong Kong International Races each December, and a tourist zone offers commentary for visitors from abroad. Racing takes place only on scheduled meeting days.
