About Old Tai Po Police Station (Green Hub)

The Old Tai Po Police Station, built in 1899, was the first police station and police headquarters in the New Territories and is the oldest surviving police station there. Its three single-storey buildings, the main building, staff quarters and canteen block, keep their Dutch gables, ornamental window arches and fireplaces, with a guard house and octagonal well near the entrance and a brick incinerator on the lawn. It has been revitalised as the Green Hub, run by Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden, which offers a heritage display and heritage tours alongside sustainable-living programmes.
