About King Law Ka Shuk, Tai Po Tau Tsuen

King Law Ka Shuk is the ancestral hall of the Tang clan in Tai Po Tau Tsuen, named after their ancestor Tang King-law and once used as a study hall; the Antiquities and Monuments Office says it still serves for clan meetings and traditional functions. It is a traditional three-hall, two-courtyard building with geometric motifs on its roof ridges, and the murals above the main entrance and the carved timber altar in the middle hall date from renovations in 1932. Its restoration, completed in 2001, won an Award of Merit in the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards.
