About Kowloon Union Church
Opened in 1931, Kowloon Union Church was one of the earliest inter-denominational churches in Hong Kong, built by the London Missionary Society with support from Sir Paul Chater. It is in Perpendicular Gothic style, with red brick walls, grey granite window surrounds, a battlemented three-storey tower as the entrance and a rare double hammer-beam timber roof over the main hall. The Japanese army used it as a stable during the occupation, and it reopened for worship in 1947 and is still an active church.
