About Former Kowloon British School
Opened in 1902 for the children of foreign residents, the Former Kowloon British School is the oldest surviving school building built for Hong Kong's expatriate community. It is a Victorian building adapted to the climate with wide verandas, high ceilings and pitched roofs, and it was founded after a donation from Ho Tung (later Sir Robert Ho Tung) in 1900. After restoration it now houses the Antiquities and Monuments Office, and it was declared a monument in 1991.
