About Rongguo Mansion, Zhengding
A full-size replica of the Rong family mansion from the novel Dream of the Red Chamber, built in Zhengding between 1984 and 1986 as the set for the 1987 television adaptation and kept open afterwards as an attraction. The courtyard houses, with 212 rooms in three axes of five courtyards each, are furnished in Ming and Qing style, and Ningrong Street beside them is a 200 m street of 51 shop-fronts built in Qing style. It is a film set rather than a historic building, and suits fans of the novel or the series.
How to get to Rongguo Mansion, Zhengding
In the old town of Zhengding, about 13 km north-north-east of central Shijiazhuang and about 500 m north-west of Longxing Temple, within walking distance of it.
