About Guishan Island
An island in the Pearl River estuary between Zhuhai and Lantau, seat of Guishan town in the Wanshan archipelago, renamed in 1954 after the warship Guishan, whose crew made a beach landing here in the Wanshan Islands campaign of 1950. Round-island routes lead to the Guishan warship memorial park, a square and poem wall dedicated to Wen Tianxiang, a Mazu temple, rock inscriptions and lighthouses, and the surrounding waters are a base for sea fishing.
How to get to Guishan Island
By ferry from Xiangzhou port in Zhuhai (about 50 minutes, passing under the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge), from Shekou in Shenzhen, or from Taipa in Macau, as the island's port has border facilities.
