About Po Lin Monastery
Po Lin Monastery, whose name means 'precious lotus', is a Buddhist monastery on the Ngong Ping plateau that monks established in 1906. Its main hall enshrines three large Buddha statues, and the Grand Hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas holds thousands of small gilded Buddha figures. A garden lies in the grounds, and the Wisdom Path, a walking trail of 38 wooden posts inscribed with the Heart Sutra, is about 0.5 km to the south-east.
