About Tung Chung Battery
Tung Chung Battery is a small coastal battery on a hill slope in Tung Chung, recorded as built in 1817 to guard Tung Chung Bay from pirates. Only an L-shaped wall with a corner platform, probably a gun emplacement, survives; it was found under undergrowth in 1980 and has been partly restored. It is a quick stop that pairs with Tung Chung Fort, about 1 km to the south.
