About Xiqu Centre
The Xiqu Centre in the West Kowloon Cultural District is a performance venue for Chinese opera (xiqu), especially Cantonese opera, and opened in January 2019. Its building is designed to evoke a glowing lantern behind a beaded curtain, and it has a Grand Theatre of more than 1,000 seats and a 200-seat Tea House Theatre. Guided tours in English, Cantonese or Mandarin cover the history of the building and the art form.
